New OCIE Deputy Director Named
The SEC on February 3 named Jane Jarcho as the new deputy director of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examination.
Jarcho has significant experience with OCIE, having served as national director of its investment adviser/investment company examination program since 2013, a role she will continue under her new title, the agency said. She oversees approximately 600 attorneys, accountants and examiners responsible for inspections of registered advisers and investment companies.
Under her leadership, examinations of advisers and investment companies increased by more than 27 percent, the SEC said. She also oversaw a number of the agency’s targeted examinations, including those focused on cybersecurity, never-before-examined advisers and investment companies, alternative mutual funds, fixed-income funds, and retirement accounts.
Prior to being named national director of the investment adviser/investment company examination program, Jarcho served as associate director of the program in the SEC’s Chicago Regional Office. She first joined the SEC in 1990 in the Division of Enforcement, where she held several positions, including branch chief, senior trial counsel and assistant director. She moved to OCIE in 2008. She has a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
