Donohue Appointed IM Director
On April 10, SEC Chairman Christopher Cox announced that he had selected Andrew "Buddy" Donohue to serve as the next director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. Donohue currently serves as general counsel to Merrill Lynch Investment Management. Donohue will be sworn in on May 15.
It will be the first time in recent memory that the IM Division will be headed by a Wall Street lawyer. An early prediction: his directorship will be interesting to watch.
In other significant SEC staffing news: Thomas Biolsi, a managing director in PricewaterhouseCoopers’s regulatory compliance practice (and a frequent speaker at IA compliance conferences), has been named associate regional director for examinations in the SEC’s Northeast Regional Office.
